Keeping Up in An Ever Changing World

I
just heard about something that will change my online world, and I'm
sharing as it may impact some SELCO libraries using the same products.
Yahoo! has been having difficulty integrating popular Web 2.0 tools
they've purchased into the rest of their business model. According to
the "peanut butter manifesto" Yahoo! may incorporate two of my favorite
tools, del.icio.us and Flickr into existing Yahoo! products. You can read some more details about the situation here, as well as more theory behind the new strategy and more details about what may happen to these products.
It
is a reminder to me that tools change. I need to learn and teach not
just a specific tool that is useful in the short term, but also an
approach to technology that takes into consideration the inevitable evolution of that technology. So be prepared to play in any future technology classes!
