The Sesquicentennial Banner was on display at the Kasson Public Library today, Friday, April 18, 2008. Director Bonnie Adams had arranged for the Zumbro Bend Rendezvousers to be in the library to greet people and share some of the early history of Minnesota.
Historical reenactors take great care to assure their costumes are correct to the time they are portraying. I enjoyed hearing about the fabric choices; French fabrics were highly valued due to the colors used and the patterns used, for example. Hand-made knife sheaths, trim, beading, and possible bags add color and interest to their clothing. Vicki Peterson was also wearing trade silver pieces and an original Louis and Clark necklace of trade beads. Very interesting!
