Better World Books and National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL) have teamed up for their third annual Libraries and Families Award recognizes innovative library-based literacy programs for families. Library programs throughout the country with a strong inter-generational approach to helping parents and children learn together are encouraged to apply. Programs that serve communities and families with high literacy and socioeconomic needs are of special interest. Both previously existing and new programs are eligible for the award. Three libraries will win a $10,000 grant and and scholarships to the NCFL's annual conference in 2012 and 2013. The application deadline is February 6, 2012.
