Integrated Library System (ILS)
There are over 2.1 million items owned by 84 Online Libraries within the SELCO region. There are over 229,000 registered borrowers at those libraries. Any of those 2.1 million+ items may be checked out to any of those 229,000+ patrons at any time. How do we keep track of it all? Index cards?
That would be a lot of index cards. The answer, of course, is the SELCO Integrated Library System (ILS). Using powerful databases and business logic software, the ILS automates many basic library functions such as circulation, cataloging, and searching. A separate web-based catalog gives patrons the power to find just the right information for their needs.
