PC Leasing for Lanesboro PL
03-07-2008 PKC Today the remaining 4 public computers were deployed. This completes the Lanesboro Public Library leasing project.
03-06-2008 PKC Today was day one of the computer deployment at Lanesboro Public Library. I deployed two staff computers (their Circ and Director's PC), one public computer and their thin client. There are 4 public computers that remain to be deployed during tomorrow's site visit.
02-20-2008 PKC I had a telephone conversation with Jill last week to setup a deployment date of Thursday March 6th, and Friday March 7th. The new tools have arrived and I am now finalizing the master image for the staff and public computers. Once that has been completed, we can restore the image onto the rest of the computers and they will be ready for deployment.
02-04-2008 DRL Paul is waiting for new software to arrive for drive partitioning and other setup tasks. That should happen this week. Assuming nothing unexpected happens, we should have these PCs set up by the end of next week (02-15-2008). Both Paul and Mike will be involved in this deployment. Paul will call Jill at Lanesboro PL with a status report.
01-28-2008 DRL All equipment has arrived at the SELCO office. Donovan has reported status to the Director. Master image for staff PC is almost complete.
01-23-2008 DRL More equipment has arrived although it is not all here yet. As PCs are delivered to Lanesboro PL, they are sending them to us for configuration. Paul has been working with a staff PC to create a master image. As these PCs use Vista, many of our tools do not work and we have purchased new drive partitioning and disk imaging tools. Some final decisions have to be made about setup and we expect that to be done by the end of this week.
TO DO:
Give status report to Lanesboro PL Director--Donovan
Make final decisions on Vista setup--Paul and Mike
Repartition staff PC drive and develop final image--Paul
01-14-2008 DRL Lanesboro PL has entered a leasing agreement with SELCO. The lease will replace all but one of their PCs for a three year term. At the end of the three years, SELCO will replace the PCs with new ones. SELCO has contracted with Gateway to provide the service. Equipment has begun to arrive with installation scheduled tentatively for the week of January 21, although this will depend on when everything arrives.
