09-29-2008  DRL  The email server has been setup, although webmail continues to go to the old server for the time being.  There is no driving need to take the final step but we want to get this project completed and have set 10-17-2008 as our deadline.

09-04-08 MR  Some work was done on the new email server over the weekend.  Everything is ready for the migration except for the SSL certificate that is needed for webmail on the new server.  The SSL certificate will be created and installed next week, and we will then be ready to complete this.

08-18-08 DRL  This project has been on the back burner as we addressed more pressing needs.  Will pick up again in September after the schools are back in session.  Goal is to have the Exchange server up by the end of September.  Other servers will follow.

06-23-08 MR  Currently working on configuration of new email server.  Exchange is installed and running, and the configuration is currently being tested.  Planning on having this completed and in production by the end of July.

05-29-2008  DRL  New server is running two virtual servers:  Active Directory and Payroll software host..  An email server has been created but will not be operational until July.  Next server to added will be an internal DNS server, which is to be done this weekend.  Once these four servers have gone live, this project will end.  There is still capacity on the server, however, and there will be future projects to create more virtual servers.

05-20-2008  MR New server has been purchased that will allow us to upgrade a few of the applications, such as the Exchange Server used to host email.  Also we will be able to migrate some current physical servers to Virtual machines to save on power use.

The base server image has been installed, and currently working on Configuring the Virtual Machine network.
