Horizon 7.4.2 Upgrade

10-21-2008  MR  The 7.4.2 upgrade has been scheduled for Monday, December 8.  We will begin preparing information for the libraries.  We will require information from each library if they want pre-overdue notices enabled for their location or not.  We will also get a firm timeline for the upgrade, when Horizon,iPAC, and Web Reporter will be available.  Aurora will send out information to the libraries about pre-overdues and  find out which libraries wish to enable this option.  The deadline for responses will be 11-12-2008.

10-15-2008  DRL  The 7.4.2 upgrade has come out in the time we were trying to get information from SirsiDynix.  A document with information on this upgrade has been submitted to the ILS Operations & Technology Policy committee for their 10-17-2008 meeting.  At this time, we will decide how to proceed.

09-24-2008  DRL  Mick has confirmed (with SirsiDynix) that we can turn on/off pre-overdue notices by Location after the upgrade; they have provided us with the scripts.  We will add this to the agenda for the next ILS Operations / Technology Policy joint committee for discussion.  At that time, we will set the timeline for performing the upgrade.

08-29-2008  DRL  We have approached SirsiDynix  to determine if we can turn on pre-overdue notices after the upgrade is performed.  Their documentation only references enabling the functionality during the upgrade.  Once we figure out how this works, we will refer the matter to the ILS Operations / Technology Policy.  The question will be whether and how to use this functionality.  The documentation states that it can be chosen by Location.

08-01-2008  MR  -  We will be upograding Horizon to version 7.4.1.  This will also include an upgrade to IPAC and to Web Reporter.

There will be new function enabled in this upgrade, including pre-overdue notices and ability to charge for expired holds.

The upgrade is scheduled to be begin on Thursday evening, September 18th, and complete the morning of Friday, September 19th.
