Redeployment of numerous PCs at Albert Lea PL

03-05-08  MGF  While on site for another problem, Peggy asked me to finish setting up the two remaining children's pcs, they are now working.  This concludes the Albert Lea project.

02-20-2008  MGF  We are still waiting to hear back from Albert Lea to see if the ethernet drops have been made and the PCs have been setup as they were going to do the physical installation and contact us if they had any problems.

02-06-2008  MGF  The two systems have been setup and returned via delivery to Albert Lea.  I am waiting to hear back from Theresa to verify that they are setup and running.

02-04-2008  DRL  The last two PCs have arrived and Mike has set them up for public use.  Mike is waiting to hear back from Theresa on their Update Window (a setting in the MS Shared Computer Toolkit).  Once that is setup, Mike will send the PCs back for deployment.  That will conclude the project.

01-18-2008  MGF  The two new Dell staff systems have been setup and configured.  They have been put in delivery to be returned to Albert Lea.  Once we get their two old staff systems we will re-configure them for public use.

01-14-2008  MGF  The previous Public PC Management (Pharos) SignUp has been reloaded and sent back to Albert Lea as a public machine.

01-11-2008  MGF  The Public PC Management (Pharos) SignUp has been moved and installed.  The previous system has been sent back to be reloaded as a public PC using the MS Shared Computer Toolkit to be used as a film reader machine.  The two new staff systems are also still left to be setup and deployed, afterwards we will re-image their two previous staff systems as public PCs and move them to the Children's area.

01-10-2008  DRL  Albert Lea PL has 3 new PCs, which are to be deployed.  The library wishes to use these PCs to replace 3 existing PCs, which are to be rebuilt and moved to other areas of the library.  Of the three old PCs to be moved, two are replacing other old PCs that in turn must be moved.  Thus, a total 8 PCs are being moved or deployed.  One of the PCs being moved is their Public PC Management (Pharos) sign-up server, which will be replaced with a new server.  Note that moving an old PC entails rebuilding it.  This project actually started in November but is just now being moved to the Project list.  It incorporates work requested in Help Desk ticket #s 014085, 014164, 014406, 014407, and 014408.  At present, 4 PCs have been rebuilt or deployed.
