Testing Engaged Patrons Site Apps
This site, http://engagedpatrons.org/ , has many "plug n' play" applications our member libraries might find useful. Test it out as a possible solution(s) for them.
TC 05/18/2008 Closing this ticket per discussion with Donovan weeks ago.
TC 04/18/2008 After researching EngagedPatrons.org, it should be noted that these application are not completely free. For example, the Library Events application is "$195/year (free to qualifying public libraries);" Note on qualifying public libraries: "EngagedPatrons.org services are free to U.S. public libraries receiving
less than $1 million per year in total income (as reported to the National Center for Education Statistics)." See the Fee Waiver page from their site for more info.
- Blog application is "$95/year (free to qualifying public libraries);",
- Contact Your Library is "Free to libraries of all sizes!"
- RSS Feeds app is "Free to libraries of all sizes!"
TC 04/11/2008 Adding to the queue. Contacted the site via their Web site contact us form for a demo account to test their apps for possible use by our patrons. They replied back, "just click on the service you are interested in demoing, then click the Free Trial link below the bulleted features list. You will be prompted for some information about your library system, create an account, then you can begin customizing the service to best meet your needs. After a few screens, you will be provided with a URL you can play with for demoing."
