5-15-2008  MR  The old location has been removed from the IPAC, and the location in Horizon has been changed to reflect it is no longer available to be used.

04-14-2008  DRL  All patron, item, and requests records have been transferred to the new Location.  Library staff have begun using the new Location.  The ILS Bulletin has been sent.  We have decided not to actually remove the old Location, due largely to resistance from SirsiDynix who wish to charge us a large fee for assistance.  We will simply mask the Location so it is not visible to library staff or patrons.  We will plan to have this completed by 05-15-2008.

03-25-2008  DRL  On Sunday, 03-30, we will move patron records, item records, and requests to the new Location, PEMSHS.  After successful completion of the transfer, library staff will begin using the new Location.  The ILS Bulletin on this will go out today.  The old Location, PLAS, will be removed from iPac and marked "do not use" in the Staff PAC.  Mick has been working with SirsiDynix on the procedure to remove PLAS.  Donovan will call our SD account rep next week after everyone is home from PLA.

03-19-2008 JP  Mick and Jonya began creating the new location. Most work will be done during business hours. Bulletin will go out to inform libraries. Items will be moved over the weekend.

03-06-2008 JP  Met with Mike Cabaya to determine what reports were needed and to explain the process.

02-29-2008  DRL  Jonya will contact the school before we make the move to ensure they are aware of our timeline and make sure that all statistical reports have been run.  Stats will not be available for the old Location after we move them.

02-12-2008  DRL  Project is scheduled during the week of 03-18-2008 to 03-25-2008.

01-08-2008 JP All visible references to the original legal name of the Plainview-Elgin-Millville School have been changed. However Plainview Elgin-Millville Schools would like the code changed as well. This involves creating a new location, migrating all items and borrowers, and then deleting the old site out of the system.

07-18-2007  DRL  We still need to change all codes (which are not visible to most users) to reflect the name change.

02-06-2007 DRL The name has been changed wherever visible. Creation of views is pending.

12-19-2006 DRL No automated tools from SD. We will proceed as planned, which SD has told us will work.

12-05-2006 DRL Craig will check with SD to see if they have any automated tools for this operation. Regardless, an ILS Bulletin will be sent out approx. one week before making the change.

11-28-2006 DRL Plainview-Elgin school has combined and we will need to change the Location name for Plainview school to reflect this fact.
