Projects Web Page Replacement
TC 06/16/2008 Per discussions with Donovan some weeks ago, this project is on hold. Moving out of active status, into Development Que w/ deferred status.
TC 5/12/2008 Discussed Remember the Milk w/ Donovan.
TC 4/30/2008 Researched Remember the Milk web site. Another possible project management software tool. Emailed Donovan about it.
TC 4/14/2008 Checked into basecamp project management software. We could possibly pull data from basecamp, and display within the SELCO Plone site. Also checked out RSS api. New Project Scope (software requirements):
- Main page: display project name (text link to specific project page w/ more detail than main page)
- Main page: display project dates (created, last update)
- Specific Project Page: project name, running notes of the project (what's been done, etc.) w/ entry date of new note, and the name (initials) of the person entering it.

3/18-19/2008 Just a quick update to check out Basecam. Also still considering just building our own project mgmt.
software in house.
TC 3/18/2008 Today I researched 20-30
different add-ons from the plone.org site relating to project
management. Most of them are specialized and won't meet the
requirements of this project. However, TeamSpaces may work. It seems
to be generalized enough that it may serve our requirements. I
downloaded and installed in on the test plone instance,
www.selco.info:8000/test. I will be working with it further this week.
TC 3/18/2008 Per Donovan's request I will spend some time this week on this project. I'll look more into an add-on for the selco.info plone site, or possibly making our own add-on.
TC 3/10/2008 From the 3/10 Team Web meeting notes, "current list is difficult to display for a lg. group".
DRL 02-21-2008 The objective of this project is to create a new web-based system for tracking SELCO technology projects. Requirements:
1) The objective is to create a list of projects organized by Team. Projects is defined as tasks other than Help Desk tickets and routine operational tasks. The primary audience is the SELCO user community. The secondary audience is SELCO staff.
2) In addition to the Team, each project is also assigned ratings for Complexity and Libraries Affected. These ratings are used to prioritize projects and must be displayed. The vocabulary for these ratings is controlled but it is not necessary for the list to enforce this vocabulary.
3) Each project must display a start date and the date on which the project was last updated.
4) Each project must display a status such as In Progress or Completed. The vocabulary for status is controlled but it is not necessary for the list to enforce this vocabulary.
5) Each project entry contains a log in which SELCO staff record progress. This log should be displayed in descending chronological order (newest entry at the top) with a notation showing who created the entry.
6) There must be an overview page listing all projects, without the progress logs, to allow users to see all the projects at a glance. This overview should list all the elements described above except for the progress log entries.
7) The list must be quick and easy to update, even for staff with no HTML skills.
8) The list must support basic formatting elements including:
--bold
--italics
--underlining
--bullet points
--numbered lists
--links
Tom and Donovan are evaluating options. Attempts to modify a blog to meet these criteria were unsuccessful.
