Online Library PC System Inventory

10-29-2007  DRL  Project completed.

10-01-2007  DRL  Still working with Northfield PL to get a site visit scheduled.

08-21-2007  DRL  Albert Lea PL has been started and will be completed next week as we deploy their new PCs.  Northfield PL remains; their site visit had to be rescheduled by SELCO.

07-30-2007  DRL  Two sites are left:  Albert Lea PL and Northfield PL.  Paul C. will be at Northfield this week.  Albert Lea will be complete after their new installations.

04-30-2007  DRL  Angela has entered all the information that we have gathered.  As we complete more labeling, the information should be forwarded to her for entry.

04-11-2007  DRL  Angela has begun populating the database with information we had already gathered along with data from Dell and Gateway, who manufactured most of the PCs and keeps basic system data on the PCs for us.

04-05-2007  DRL  We are moving this project to the active development list.  Mike has created an Access database to store the information.  We do not anticipate Access being our final solution but it will provide a platform from which we can export the data when a permanent solution is implemented.  This solution could be part of the Help Desk support system but we are still in the early stages of searching for a Help Trac replacement and it's too early to know if this will work out.

08-30-2006  DRL  We need to bring together information on Online Library PCs that is currently stored in several places or not kept at all.  This project will only encompass PCs covered by SELCO PC Support and will collect basic system data such as:  hard drive size, CPU, RAM size, etc.  This project will be deferred for the time being due to other, higher-priority projects already in progress.
