Research Horizon's Debt Collect and how it interacts with Unique Management

08-06-2007  DRL  Austin PL Director has decided to hold off on this.  She indicated that this is a budgetary decision and she may revisit it in the future.  We will file the information and revisit it if needed.  Moving task to Completed list.

07-12-2007  DRL  Discussed options with Austin PL Director.  She is deciding and will get back to us.  Changing task status to Pending until we hear back from her.

05-17-2007  DRL  Discussed survey results at ILS Operations Committee meeting.  Decision made not to offer this as a Basic or Value Added service due to lack of interest.  We will offer Austin PL the opportunity to pursue this as a Special Project.

04-24-2007  DRL  Aurora sent out a survey to assess Online Library interest.  A few responses have come in but not enough to make any judgements.  Aurora will send out a reminder email for responses.

04-19-2007  DRL  Jonya gave the ILS Operations Committee a comprehensive fact sheet on Debt Collect and Unique Management.  Along with the survey in progress, we should be able to make a decision based on this information.

02-26-2007 DRL SirsiDynix has not responded to us. Donovan will contact SirsiDynix to try and get things rolling.

02-06-2007 DRL Preparatory to polling the libraries for interest, Jonya is gathering information on Unique Management

01-16-2007 DRL On the agenda for January ILS Operations Committee meeting.

10/19/06 JP From the ILS Operations Committee meeting: Donovan reported on Horizon Debt Collect, the SD product that reports on blocks in the patron records, pulls the information out and sends it to Unique Management for collection. Unique Management does the collecting but, since Debt Collect is able to ease their work load, gives customers a better price. Pricing is based on seats, or the number of staff that could use it. At 201-500 seats, it would be $4,325. A 25 seat license, enough for just Austin PL, it would be $1,992. This could be offered as a Value-Added Service but some research needs to be done to decide if there is sufficient need to just make it a Basic Service. Discussion held on the two options. SELCO staff will do additional research and report back to this committee.
