LSTA - Library Services and Technology Act
The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) program is federally administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and provides grant funding to states. In Minnesota, the LSTA program is administered by State Library Services and School Technology. The Five-Year Plan for the use of LSTA funding was developed by the Department of Education with input from library users and the Minnesota library community. It addresses the state’s present and near-future projections of the needs of end-users, and strategies that libraries can use to meet those needs. The LSTA Grant program is based on the State of Minnesota LSTA Five-Year Plan 2008-2012
Resources for SELCO and SELS Members
SELCO and SELS member libraries who wish to apply for LSTA grants should contact SELCO/SELS as soon as possible to get further information about grant cycles and to coordinate their application process. While individual members may apply directly, endorsement by SELCO or SELS requires the approval of the SELCO/SELS Board of Directors before the Letter of Intent is submitted. The Minnesota Department of Education requires the submission of the "Letter of Intent" as the initial step in the application process.
