Libraries of all types can benefit from resources on advocacy. The LegWork Committee (Legislative Activities Committee) is comprised of members of MLA & ITEM interested in Legislative process. The group works with the (elected) Chair, Incoming Chair, & Past Chair of the Legislative Committee on planning the Legislative activities such as planning the annual Legislative Forum in conjunction with Legislative Committee Leadership, communicating to MLA members about legislative activities, and maintaining the Minnesota Library Advocacy website. This website includes information about Minnesota Regional Library Systems, how the legislative process works, and a series of videos intended to show how to do effective library advocacy work. Most work focuses on Minnesota legislative activities, but support for the national legislative platform is included.

In addition, SELCO has collected documents and videos, linked below, to help aid in advocacy efforts.  This list is by no means comprehensive. If you have items that you would like to see added to the list, please contact the SELCO Office.
